I was extremely pleased when I heard that Councillor Loken was running for re-election. As a mother of two young boys, I find Mr. Loken's dedication to the safety of the neighbourhoods in Ward 3 unparalleled and his commitment to our local communities is tireless. Honestly, I don't know when he sleeps! I have seen him countless times out and about volunteering his time and boundless energy to local groups, community leagues and public gatherings.
Any time I have seen Mr. Loken, be it at the Castledowns Park for the Canada Day Celebration (where he was working hard to restore the power outage that occurred that day!), or at a Community Yard Sale (where he brought hot coffee for all the volunteers), or in attendance at a League dinner (he donated all the supplies for the children's craft table) he has always had a warm and welcoming smile on his face.
His experience (both educational and professional) compliments the challenges a Councillor faces. He is a dedicated family man, genuine and kind hearted. I welcome his continued leadership on City Council as he works vigorously to represent us.
